      Yin Yu Tang: A Chinese Home

      Explore a stately 16-room, 200-year-old Chinese home, which was transported from Anhui province to Salem and re-erected at PEM.

      Previously on view, The Salem Witch Trials: 1692 presented rarely exhibited documents and objects from the PEM collection to reveal tragic, true stories told through the perspective of the accused and the accusers.

      Made It: The Women Who Revolutionized Fashion was on view through March 2021 and showcased more than 100 works spanning 250 years that recognized women's often-overlooked contributions to the fashion and design industry.

      Salem Stories

      Currently on view, Salem Stories presents 26 alphabetical vignettes about the people, places and events that make Salem, Massachusetts, the city it is today.

      Jacob Lawrence

      The 2020 exhibition Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle presented 30 intimate panels from the series of paintings Struggle: From the History of the American People by one of the most renowned Black American artists of the 20th century.

      Asian Export Art

      Currently on view, PEM’s Asian Export Art gallery features more than 200 works of art made in diverse media by artists in China, Japan and South Asia — including porcelain, textiles, tea, ivory and silver.

      Created by artist Wes Bruce, Where the Questions Live: An Exploration of Humans in Nature was on view through January 2022 and adventurously investigated the connections, metaphors and experiences of human beings within the natural world.

      Art & Nature Center

      The Pod, located in The Dotty Brown Art & Nature Center, encourages young visitors to grow their awareness of nature and tap into creativity through hands-on experiences. The Pod is currently open to the public.
