      Location: Marine Hall Mercantile, 177 Essex Street / Kakawa Chocolates, 173 Essex Street

      Games are available to check out on a first-come, first-served basis; space is limited. We will open the door between Kakawa and Marine Hall Mercantile to allow access between the spaces.

      All games must be returned to Marine Hall Mercantile by 4 pm.

      Visit Marine Hall Mercantile every Saturday in April to try our variety of board games and puzzles! Choose a game to borrow from the shop and have a seat in Kakawa to enjoy a hot chocolate or a sweet treat.

      Marine Hall Mercantile is the Peabody Essex Museum’s satellite shop located at 177 Essex Street, offering needful things from near and far to Salem visitors and locals alike. All shop proceeds support the museum.

      Kakawa Chocolates. Founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Kakawa is a specialty chocolate company whose name derives from the Olmec word for chocolate. Their shop in Salem serves historic chocolate elixirs such as traditional Aztec, Colonial American and Colonial Mexican drinking chocolates. Kakawa supports local, fair trade farming, shares the history of chocolate and produces a huge variety of high-quality chocolate creations, including dairy-free and vegan options.
