PEM Ticketing Policies
Unless otherwise notes, all special exhibitions and galleries are included with a PEM general admission ticket.
General Information
All visitors require a ticket to enter the museum, regardless of age. Admission is free for children ages 16 and under, current PEM members, Salem residents and people who work in Salem. Please see our full list of other complimentary admissions.
Yin Yu Tang
Visits to Yin Yu Tang: A Chinese Home are included in the price of general admission, but require a separate, timed ticket. We cannot guarantee that Yin Yu Tang tickets will be available on the day of your visit. Plan your Yin Yu Tang visit.

General Admission: Museum admission ticket(s) can be exchanged up to the date of your visit, before 10 am, by emailing information@pem.org or calling 978-542-1511.
Ropes Mansion ticket(s) can be exchanged up to the date of your visit, before 10 am, by emailing information@pem.org or calling 978-542-1511.
Walking tour ticket(s) can be exchanged up to the date of your visit, before 10 am, by emailing information@pem.org or calling 978-542-1511.
Refunds
General Admission: Museum ticket(s) can be refunded up to the date of your visit, before 10 am, by emailing information@pem.org or calling 978-542-1511. Unused tickets will not be refunded.
Ropes Mansion ticket(s) can be refunded up to the date of your visit, before 10 am, by emailing information@pem.org or calling 978-542-1511.

Due to limited class sizes, we cannot issue refunds for PEM classes unless a weather-related emergency has been declared or PEM is required to close due to the weather. Personal emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
FAQs
Yes! You’re more than welcome to step out of the museum and present your admissions tag to come back inside before we close. Last re-entry is at 4:45 pm.
All events marked “included with general admission” are free with the price of your ticket for that day. Some PEM events require additional preregistration. Explore upcoming programs on our Events page.
Yes! Children under 16 always receive free admission.
No, Ropes Mansion requires a timed ticket for entry. You may purchase a Ropes Mansion only ticket for $15 or you may purchase a combo ticket that includes Museum Admission and Ropes Mansion entry for the cost of General Admission plus an additional $5. The house is open seasonally for self-guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays from May–October.
A visit to Yin Yu Tang requires a separate, timed ticket, but is included in the price of admission. You may reserve a Yin Yu Tang ticket online in advance of your visit or at the Admissions desk when you arrive. The tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
