Explore the historic home at your own pace! The stately mansion was home to three generations of the Ropes family and is recognized as one of New England's most significant and thoroughly documented historic houses. Head out to the historic garden, open year-round, sunrise to sunset.

Jingle Sculpture Community Art Project
11 am–4 pm
Help build a work of art that will hang in the museum! Visitors ages 8 and up are invited to co-create a jingle sculpture conceived by artist and PEM Prize recipient Marie Watt (Seneca Nation). The finished sculpture – made by many hands in the Salem community and beyond – will be revealed at the Salem Arts Festival and PEM Prize Opening Day on June 8.

CelloGayageum

Enjoy a musical performance from South Korean phenomenon CelloGayageum, composed of cellist Sol Daniel Kim and gayageum player Dayoung Yoon. Drawing inspiration from the Pavilion of Unification in Berlin, a city with a tragic history of war, division and reunification, they have seamlessly blended their two musical cultures and instruments to create a harmonious symbiosis of sound and style.
This concert is made possible by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Boston and supported by the Lowell Institute.
