At PEM, Trevor Smith, Curator of the Present Tense will led a behind the scenes tour of contemporary installations by Charles Sandison, Yoan Capote, and Vanessa Platacis in advance of their fall unveiling of the new wing. We them walked together to the nearby el Punto Urban Art Museum to view Stephanie Benenson's Harbor Voices. This light and sound installation visualized immigration stories and is produced in collaboration with members of the Point neighborhood. It is a feature of the week long public art festival IM|MIGRATION. For those who wanted to continue the conversation after the tour, Salem's famous Notch Brewery is just around the corner.
