Salem Woven Dreams explores Salem’s rich tapestry of immigrant stories and experiences and shows how they shape the cultural landscape of our small city. This student-created installation showcases the resilience, struggles and triumphs of Salem immigrant communities, and fosters an appreciation for the complexities of migration and cultural identity.
This exhibit is a culmination of a summer learning experience for Salem middle school students. The project was facilitated by a partnership between LEAP for Education, the Peabody Essex Museum and Salem Public Schools, and was supported in part by grants from Mass Humanities and federal 21st Century Community Learning Center funds.
