Every Saturday is game day at the PEM Shop’s new satellite location, Marine Hall Mercantile, next door to Kakawa Chocolate House on Essex Street. Come in to borrow a game and enjoy a session at Kakawa, or tackle a jigsaw puzzle!
For the month of March, we’re hosting an event that celebrates Salem's history as the former game capital of the world. Parker Brothers got their start and manufactured the early editions of Monopoly right here in Salem!
Each week of the preliminary round, for the first four Saturdays in March, four groups of up to six players can sign up to compete in an hour-long game of Monopoly. The player with the most assets at the end of each session will advance to compete against the three other winners in another hour-long game. The overall champion will receive a Bookshelf Monopoly board game. These four champions will then go on to our final round on Saturday, March 29. The winner of this final battle will receive a Luxury Edition of Monopoly!
All prizes are provided by WS Games, makers of deluxe editions of classic Parker Brothers games.
