      Join us for an evening of mindful creativity that celebrates the recent opening of Jung Yeondoo: Building Dreams! Go on a curator-led tour of the exhibition and then bring your dreams to life by exploring a visual manifestation practice.

      If you could create a visual representation of your wildest dreams, what would it look like? Think about your dreams and bring them to life through the use of photographic media and collage.

      About the Curators

      Jiyeon Kim, Curator of Korean Art and Culture
      Jiyeon Kim, Curator of Korean Art and Culture

      Jiyeon Kim developed PEM’s new Korean Art gallery, which opened in May 2025. Kim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position, from her academic credentials earned from universities in Seoul, Indiana, New York and Los Angeles; to her teaching career in Korea and the U.S., including her most recent position at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly. In 2016 and 2017, she worked on PEM’s Korean collection as a project specialist. Kim earned her Ph.D. in Korean Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her recent research topics include social status and artistic identity, collecting history of Asian art in Boston area museums and gardens as social space. She actively participates in the cultural life of the Korean community in the greater Boston area and across New England.

      Stephanie Tung leads the interpretation and presentation of the museum’s growing photography collection, which spans the 19th century through today. A specialist in the history of photography of China, she focuses on transnational art exchanges, global modernism, translation studies and notions of artistic labor. Formerly serving as PEM’s Assistant Curator and then Associate Curator with a focus on photography, Tung was instrumental in shepherding the 2020 acquisition of approximately 1,600 photographs by artists with ties to East Asia, a gift made possible through the generosity of the Joy of Giving Something Foundation.

      Tung holds a B.A. in Literature and History of Art and Architecture from Harvard University and an M.A. in Art and Archeology from Princeton University. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Princeton’s Art and Archeology program with her dissertation, Pictorial China: Art Photography in the Republican Era, 1923–1929.       Lillian Santiago

      Lillian (Lil) Santiago (formerly Gendreau) is PEM’s Public Programming Coordinator, as well as an artist, educator, arts administrator, practitioner and researcher. Throughout her work, she places a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, actively working to make museum spaces and arts experiences more accessible and inclusive, and supporting and reflecting diverse perspectives and backgrounds. She holds a Master of Education in Arts, Community and Education, as well as a Psychology Certification in Holistic Health and Wellness and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Santiago is dedicated to creating opportunities for community members to experience positive, impactful engagement with the arts, and inspire lifelong learning, meaningful connection, joy and well-being.
