A young author searches for the last surviving crew member of the whaleship Essex and begs him to tell the story of the most harrowing voyage of his life: surviving storms, shipwreck and cannibalism after an enormous white whale destroys his ship. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Brendan Gleeson, Tom Holland and Cillian Murphy, this film is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s bestselling nonfiction book of the same name.
