      This internship offers participants the opportunity to engage with art, culture and history, share critical feedback with PEM and learn about a range of career paths. Interns will work with staff members, peers and professional artists to evaluate the museum's outreach and make recommendations on how to engage teen audiences through events, exhibitions and special projects. Internships run in the fall and spring.

      Goals

      1. Increase critical thinking skills and capacity for self-expression
      2. Develop workplace, team building and leadership skills
      3. Expand awareness of museum career opportunities
      4. Participate in shared artistic experiences
      5. Engage with and contribute to the PEM community

      Benefits

      • $500 stipend (based on full attendance)

      Requirements

      • Interns meet in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30–5 pm, excluding holidays
      • Must complete associated readings and assignments
      • Open to all high school students. Preference given to Salem Public School students and/or Salem residents
