Join inspiring artists Wes Sam-Bruce and Armando Silva in becoming your best self this April School Vacation Week. Let creativity be your guide as you imagine and explore what the planet is asking you to bring forth in honor of Earth Day on April 22.

Please note: The museum is open to visitors Monday, Thursday and Friday during April school vacation week.

ARTISTS DEMONSTRATION
Poetry Banners

10 am–noon and 2–4 pm
Garden Atrium

Multipractice artist Wes Sam-Bruce of Where the Questions Live is joined by bilingual artist, teacher and dancer Armando Silva for a special collaboration. The two will use their art to tell compelling stories, build community and inspire audiences through shared experiences. Together, they will create a series of collaborative large format canvas banners inspired by Earth Day. Observe, ask questions and come back often to watch their installation grow over the course of the week. The finished work will be celebrated through a performance and talk with the artists on Friday, April 23 at 3 pm.

Emmy-winning television host, conservationist and wildlife biologist Jeff Corwin joins PEM to celebrate Earth Day! With live animals as co-hosts, Corwin takes audiences on a global tour to witness firsthand the condition of the natural world. Sharing a message of hope and humanity, he encourages us all to play an active and positive role in helping to save the Earth’s most threatened animals and natural resources.

The program is offered in conjunction with PEM’s Climate + Environment Initiative Sponsored in part by The George Swinnerton Parker Memorial Lecture Fund. Instructions for joining will be sent with your confirmation email.
