Trevor Smith, Curator of the Present Tense and Steven Mallory, Manager of Historic Structures and Landscapes will deliver remarks.
About the Artist:
Born and raised in Guatemala, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno delivers an original blend of jazz, blues and 60’s rock and soul. In 2013, she received a Latin Grammy for Best New Artist. She also co-wrote the theme song for NBC’s hit television show Parks and Recreation. Moreno’s unique lane of music straddles both the English and Spanish speaking world and offers an intoxicating invitation to experience her music.
About the Venue:
PEM’s Cotting-Smith Assembly House, nestled in Salem’s McIntire District, is a Federal-style house built in 1786 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This Federalist clubhouse hosted many balls, concerts and lectures, including a dance attended by George Washington. The house was remodeled into a mansion by renowned architect Samuel McIntire in 1789 for use as a private residence.
