Join us for an opening-day celebration of our new exhibition Each/Other: Marie Watt and Cannupa Hanska Luger. All programs included with admission.

Join exhibition artists Marie Watt (Seneca and German-Scot) and Cannupa Hanska Luger (Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara, Lakota and European) for multigenerational artmaking workshops. During each one-hour segment, visitors will create one aspect of a progressive, collaborative project. Be sure to return at the end of the sessions to see what we created together!

Screening of Sweet Land: A Contemporary Opera
Part 1: Sweet Land: Feast | 12:30-1:30 pm
Part 2: Sweet Land: Train | 1:30-2:30 pm

View the award-winning two-part film Sweet Land: A Contemporary Opera, which is featured in the exhibition and reimagines narratives surrounding the founding of American and westward expansion in order to make visible the violence and erasure of American history. Part one, Sweet Land: Feast (1:00:04) will screen at 12:30 pm and will be introduced by PEM Associate Curator Lydia Gordon. Part two, Sweet Land: Train (1:02:42) begins at 1:30 pm.
