Record keeping is an essential part of the responsibilities of any collection professional. As an intern in Registration department, you will gain insight into the responsibilities associated with working on acquisitions, loans, copyright, and documentation of all aspects of PEM’s collection. You will work with the Registrars to help document the museum’s art collection and organize the related paper and digital archives. Responsibilities include arranging, labeling, digitizing, and relocating files, working with digitized images and documents including file naming, re-sizing, and linking to our database, as well as entering and cleaning data in Excel and the museum’s collection management database.
Internship Qualifications: Graduate student in the field of Museum Studies, Library Science or related discipline. Must be adept at Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Acrobat) and possess excellent attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience with data entry and document arranging skills are essential. Experience with, or knowledge of, relational databases and Adobe Lightroom a plus.
