How will the search for PEM’s new director be conducted?
An international search for PEM’s new director is underway. The museum is working with Isaacson, Miller, a well-established recruiting firm known for its track record in working with leading mission-driven organizations. A search committee of ten Board of Trustee members has been formed and is co-chaired by Robert N. Shapiro, President of the Board, and Samuel T. Byrne, Chairman of the Board. The search committee will identify and interview the most qualified candidates and make a recommendation to the full Board of Trustees, who will make the final selection decision.
How can I lend my thoughts to the search process?
The search firm and search committee will reach out to the PEM community — staff, trustees, overseers and members — to seek their observations, questions and suggestions about the museum and transition of leadership. Anyone who is interested in the search can contribute comments by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org at any time during the search.
How long will the director search take?
The search is expected to take at least six months, with the new director assuming that role upon Dan Monroe’s retirement in September 2019.
