Executive Leadership Team

Nathalie Apchin, Chief Financial Officer
Nathalie Apchin joined PEM in March 2016, coming from Harvard Medical School where she most recently served as interim chief financial officer. She was responsible for overseeing the school's $650 million budget, conducting analytical reporting, long-range and annual financial planning. During her tenure Apchin led the medical school's accounting and research cost-analysis teams, developed a strategic procurement initiative and stewarded the institution's $4 billion endowment fund.
A seasoned financial executive who has proven leadership in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, Apchin brings a high level of expertise and strategy to her role at PEM where she leads the comprehensive financial management and planning program. She joined the museum at a particularly exciting and ambitious juncture when PEM's landmark $650 million PEM Connect Campaign — which prioritizes endowment, innovation and sustainability — was underway.
Prior to Harvard Medical School, Apchin served as vice president and CFO of Crittenton Women's Union, an organization dedicated to helping low-income women achieve economic independence, and held financial consultant and analyst roles at high-tech and arts organizations ranging from startup to Fortune 100 companies.
Apchin has degrees from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Bordeaux and Carnegie Mellon University and is a Certified Management Accountant.
