Expansion

40,000 square foot wing of new gallery space including:

• Exceptional, 'Class A' gallery space in which the museum will host changing exhibitions and present evermore artworks and objects of culture from its superlative collection
• designated entrance for school groups, new coat check and restroom facilities
• enhanced loading dock and object transfer areas
• new south-facing Asian Garden for reflective contemplation

120,000-square-foot Collection Center

• unprecedented capacity for the study and care-taking of the museum's collection of more than one million works of art and culture
• Center features state-of-the-art collection storage, care and conservation spaces
• includes a 30,000-square-foot facility that provides enhanced protection, preservation and access to the Phillips Library collection
• PEM's new Collection Center is located Rowley, Massachusetts
