Public Relations Intern
The public relations department is looking for an enthusiastic intern for the Spring 2007 semester. Gain valuable experience working for one of the nation's top museums. Part-time, 20 hours a week, may qualify for stipend.
Responsibilities
The PR intern will have a broad range of responsibilities including: maintaining an extensive database; preparing packets of PEM's media coverage; distributing press releases and images for the museum's exhibitions; assisting with press receptions and previews; writing media alerts for select museum events; maintaining records and files of media coverage; and assisting the PR Associate with general inquiries and requests.
Qualifications
Candidate should have demonstrated computer skills; strong communication skills; good attention to detail; ability to work independently as needed; interest in public relations or related fields a plus; some college preferred.

Marketing Intern
The Peabody Essex Museum's busy Marketing Department is seeking a bright and energetic student to work as an intern for the Spring 2007 semester. Full or part-time, minimum 20 hours/week. May qualify for stipend. Gain valuable experience working for a world-renowned museum.
Responsibilities
Research and write monthly newsletter sent to the tourism industry; assist in researching media outlets and promotional partnerships; research and write monthly highlights for radio stations; coordinate the distribution of materials to museum partners; process donation requests and records; collect and analyze information gathered from programming and event surveys; assist the Marketing Associate in fulfilling in sales leads; data entry; open and sort mail; and file and organize the office.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate should have: demonstrated computer skills; exemplary oral and written communications skills; experience with general office systems; strong organizational and people skills; attention to detail; comfortable phone presence; ability to multi-task while maintaining deadlines; ability to work independently as needed; team oriented and a collaborative attitude a must; interest or experience in marketing or related fields a plus; high school, some college preferred.
