As a Friends member, you make it possible for the museum to create engaging exhibitions and programs that people from around the world will enjoy. You help the museum fulfill its mission of educational outreach and public service and help to keep it vital and strong. Your support introduces new worlds of art and culture to thousands of adults, schoolchildren, and families through our collections, special exhibitions, and educational programs. Ultimately, you can take pride in the contributions the Peabody Essex Museum makes to the cultural life of New England, the nation, and the world.

Friends contribute $1,500 - $2,499 per year in unrestricted annual funds which support the museum’s core curatorial, educational, outreach, and public service activities.

In appreciation, Friends of the PEM not only enjoy all the benefits of general membership, but are also invited to participate in an exclusive program designed to bring them closer to the heart of the museum, its collections and staff. In addition, you are entitled to admission for two adults and four guests to the museum for one year; 10% discounts at the Museum Shop and our fine restaurants; a complimentary subscription to Connections, our bimonthly magazine for members; reduced rates for programs; timely email communications; complimentary admission to selected Maritime and National Arts museums across the country; and one individual gift membership.
