Pictorial Supplement 1
American Clipper Ship Prints, Photographs and PaintingsDuring the 1850's the great public interest in the Clippers, their beauty and speed, inspired the print makers to immediately issue pictures of the vessels soon after they were built. These pictures were as realistic as the artists could make them within the limits of their media. Today these prints are among the rarest and most sought for by collectors. Herewith is the series of large folios published by Currier reproduced directly from the copies in the collection of Mrs. J. Watson Webb, The Shelburne Museum, Shelburne, Vermont. Also reproduced are photographs and paintings of the Clippers.
