The furniture of father-son team John and Thomas Seymour is among the most refined American decorative art of the Federal era. Combining their own superb cabinetmaking and inlay skills with those of other English immigrant carvers, turners, and upholsterers, the Seymours set the standard for an entire generation of Boston furniture makers.
