2012 Art Museum Libraries Symposium
The Art Museum Libraries Symposium at PEM on September 20 and 21, 2012, attracted 140 librarians and graduate students from the United States and several other countries for provocative presentations on issues facing libraries and archives in art museums. Topics included Institutional Archives; Legal Issues; Access to Collections; Preservation in Today's Museums and a case study of the Phillips Library renovation project.
The symposium was made possible by generous support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. Additional support was provided by Backstage Library Works and Gaylord Brothers, Massachusetts Library System Inc. and the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Antiquarian Booksellers.
An electronic copy of the 2012 proceedings will be available here in summer 2013.
