Delve into the romance between Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz with an introduction to their extensive letter correspondence. Sarah Greenough's My Faraway One: Selected Letters of Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz: Volume One, 1915-1933 reveals the contents of 650 of the more than 5,000 letters the couple exchanged over 30 years, documenting the stages of their relationship and their artistic development. Greenough, the senior curator and head of the Department of Photographs at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., shares her insight about the two renowned artists.
Her exhibitions and publications have won many awards, including the International Center of Photography Publications Award for On the Art of Fixing a Shadow: 150 Years of Photography and the George Wittenborn Memorial Book Award for Alfred Stieglitz: The Key Set.
A book signing follows the presentation.
