Beer has been an integral part of our lives since the dawn of civilization. This year's tasting journey into the art and culture of this foamy fermented beverage explores the links between European beer and Anglo and Asian export ceramics from the time period of Mr. Nobody, the late 17th century, through the 19th century. Join George Schwartz of Boston University, and local brewer Nate Heck, who will spotlight objects in the museum's renowned maritime and Asian export art collection areas connected to beer. Sample modern beers based on historic recipes or styles, such as Samuel Smith's Yorkshire Stingo, paired with appropriately themed food.
