Take this rare opportunity to learn from leading experts about the art, the history and times, and the artist Frank Benson at this one-day symposium. William Gerdts, professor emeritus at CUNY and author of American Impressionism, discusses American painting at the turn of the century. Faith Andrews Bedford, the foremost authority on Benson, discusses the artist's use of light. Laurene Buckley, executive director of the Queens Museum of Art, concentrates on the well-known Boston School of Artists of which Benson was a member. Exhibition Curator Dean Lahikainen discusses Benson's interior and still-life paintings. Luncheon and closing reception. Price includes lectures, coffee breaks, lunch, and evening reception.
