Special Projects Writer/Press Officer

We are seeking an extremely creative, strategic, and out-of-the box thinker to be part of our Public Relations Department. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, the Special Projects Writer is responsible for creating content for a variety of  communications platforms related to the museum's $650 million advancement/expansion campaign, including brochures, newsletters, fact sheets, multimedia presentations, web content, blogs, news releases, web copy and other vehicles.  A motivated, collaborative, all-around communicator, the ideal candidate will also support the museum's promotional efforts as a press officer generating media attention for the museum's projects, events, initiatives, and exhibitions. This is a term appointment ending in mid 2017.

The position requires at least five years' experience in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment.  Experience in journalism, editing, advertising, public relations, or marketing experience is highly desirable. Working knowledge of marketing, research techniques and methods, and print production. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required. Strong interest in art and/or experience working in a visual arts organization is a big plus. Candidates must be technically savvy, working with a variety of software programs and platforms. Candidates must have a BA in a related field, or relevant combination of education and experience.
